2 Peter 1:5-7...Thoughts to Live By...
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
Faith is our most important possession. It is the product and basis of our salvation. To this foundation we have been instructed to add many qualities and attributes that complement our faith and exemplify Christ that lives within us. They are listed in the verses above and they end with love. It is worthwhile to read through them several times and again from time-to-time as we walk through our daily lives. These attributes are the very essence of the life of Jesus. They are a road map of what our lives should be, or at the very least what we should try to achieve. Within our daily walk we will face many instances that rub against these truths. We will feel pressure and experience hurt, yet we should be resolute in our hearts and minds that Christ walks with us, talks with us and cares for us deeply. We are His children and forevermore safe and protected in His loving arms.
Blessings,
