Deuteronomy 6:5-9...Talk About Jesus...
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Loving our Lord and serving Him is not a passive and lonely event. Instead we are charged with the instruction to be active, to impress our love for God to our children. We are also told to talk about the commandments of God with our families and with our loved ones and even with those that we interact with daily. We are to love our God so much that He is the center of conversation and the focus of our attention. This compels us to spend time in His Word daily and to seek wisdom from what we study. Our hearts belong to God and our minds should be set about the things of Christ, love, peace, comfort, grace and mercy. These are the things that we are to share with others. These are the traits that others should see when they look at our lives. Strength lies in the Word of God and we need to be strong in the world that we face today.
