Mark 4:35-39...Faithful...
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
During the course of our lives there will be storms. There will be small ones and there will be some that seem to destined to destroy us. It is during these times that our faith is exercised and we must learn from the teaching of our Heavenly Father. In the midst of the storm that the disciples faced on the water it seemed that their lives were close to an end. Instead of faithfully believing and praying they were in panic mode. Jesus showed them once again that God was in control as He calmed the wind and brought the salvation that the men so desperately wanted. God is in control. That statement is hard to acknowledge sometimes however it is always true and solid as a rock. Even though we may not be able to see the distant shore or understand what God is doing we must rely on our faith and His faithfulness. Thank you Lord for you are in control…
