Psalm 51:10-12...Refresh and Renew...

"Create in me a pure heart, O God,
    and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

 Do not cast me from your presence
    or take your Holy Spirit from me.
 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
    and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”

There are often times that we need to take a break to renew and refresh our minds and our bodies from the exigencies of life that bombard us each and every day. These same distractions may often pull us away from our study of God’s Word or from prayer. Thus we should be mindful to ask and pray for a renewal and a steadfast spirit within each of us. We may become weary but we must remain vigilant. Our lives are a living example of Christ that lives within us. There is a lost and troubled world that surrounds us. Full of envy and strife to gather wealth and fame, both of which are fleeting. Our focus must be on Christ and on His love and grace. These are what the world needs to see, These are what the world needs to adopt and these are the attributes that we must display, each and every day.

Lord, grant me a willing spirit…
