Philippians 3:7-9...Knowing Christ...
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.
The world considers gain to be in the form of riches, moreover wealth and tangible objects that can be counted and stored for later use or for the simple sake of just being possessions to brag over. As Christians our wealth is not in material things, not in money or stocks or bonds but rather in Christ. Paul puts it very well when he says “the surpassing worth of knowing Christ.” There is no better treasure this side of heaven than to be a believer. God has a purpose for each of us. A divine and meaningful path to follow. Too often we stray from that path to seek other shiny objects and we lose our way. Pray that you will set your course in life consistent with God’s plan for you and find great success in His service. He loves us more than we can possible comprehend.
