Mark 6:47-50...God is Always Near...
Later that night, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. Shortly before dawn he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
God is aware of everything going on in all of our lives all of the time. That is just a fact. When we are struggling with the exigencies of life and "straining at he oars", God is aware. In fact most of the time we have arrived at this point of struggle because we have set out to handle matters on our own, without prayer or consolation with God. God knows this and can see where our struggles are and He stands ready to help. If nothing else He reminds us that He is near and that we have no need of being afraid. God is by our side. He is near and we need to remember that as we walk through a world that sometimes seems as though it wants to destroy us we may lean on Him. Raise up your voice in prayer and comfort your heart with the fact the God cares deeply for you.
