1 Thessalonians 4:11-12...Pay Attention to What Matters...
...make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
Living a quiet life in the atmosphere of today’s world seems almost impossible. We feed on news, post, tweets and the like daily as we view the world from our devices and screens. Often we spend more time viewing than we do conversing and that may be a big part of the separation between us as a community and even as a church body. Our ambition should lean more toward a focus on our relationship with our Lord and with those close to us such as family and friends. Instead of following the lives of everyone that appear on social media we should spend time talking and interacting with our family and friends. Pay attention to how your day is divided and how your efforts are allocated so that your life may be equally balanced and that your spirit might be renewed daily. Pray that your life may be quiet and yet fulfilled.
