1 Corinthians 13:4-7...Love Overpowers Hate...

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Ever notice just how easy it is to say that you hate something.”I hate Brussel sprouts” or “I hate driving in traffic”. You might be surprised to notice how often we actually use this phrase. Hate is easy. It flows easily from our sinful nature. It requires no effort, no exercise, not even a thought. Hate is easy and it is the lazy way through life. Satan, in his plans promotes it that way. Look around you in the world today and you will notice how prevalent and easily hate is promoted. It seems at times to suffocate us. Love, however, is hard. It requires much work and close attention. Love has boundaries and rules, love is a gift, a gift from God. In fact Love is God. Everything that is love, as described above, is God. It is what we were designed and created to become. Love can be hard, except when you allow God to work through you. That is when love multiplies, springs forth and blossoms. Sharing the love of God is our purpose and when we love others, care for others and speak lovingly about others, we become more like Christ. Exercise the love you have today. Speak lovingly, act with love, reach out with love and think about love and about God’s love for you and how awesome a gift we possess. Allow love to remove any hate you may have and to spring forth and grow from within.

Blessings,
