Luke 1:46-50...Mary was Thankful...

And Mary said:
“My soul glorifies the Lord
    and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
 for he has been mindful
    of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed, 

    for the Mighty One has done great things for me
    holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him,
    from generation to generation.

Mary accepted the news of the angel and lifted up this song in prayer to God. She had a servants heart and was willing to endure public shame and ridicule knowing in her heart that God’s promise would lift her up. She kept focused on the eternal promise of God and not the current circumstances. Even so she was mindful to praise God and to rejoice in the coming days. She was thankful to be used for the work of God. We should listen closely to what God has in store for each of us. Also we should ready to humble ourselves before God and serve where we are led. We should also be thankful each day that God cares for us and is willing to show us the way.
