Ephesians 1:18-21...Power in Prayer...
"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.”
It would seem that in today's world there is a great struggle for power and control. Not that this is a surprise, but it seems more obvious than ever. Many things that we see or experience today give us a glimpse into how the forces of evil are surrounding us, devouring, controlling and consuming many through lies and deceit. Our eyes, however, should remain open and our hearts should be secure in the fact that we have been granted the power of salvation through Jesus Christ. This is the same power that raised Jesus from the grave and it is that power that we have been granted through our salvation to use, through prayer against the challenges thrown at us by satan. Prayer is the tool that empowers us daily and too often we ignore or forget to use it. We should spend our day constantly in prayer, asking God for direction in our lives but also for the power to overcome the fiery darts that are lofted in our direction. We should pray for the power over evil and pray for our fellow Christians as we all face the daily trials of this world. Our prayers are what God desires, communication and communion with Him everyday. Spend more time today talking with God and let His power direct your hearts and minds.
Blessings,
