1 Kings 3:7...Grant Me Wisdom...
Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king in the place of my father David. But I am only a child and do not know how to carry out my duties.
Solomon, when ask by God what he desired, requested that God show him how to fulfill his duties, to give him wisdom in order to rule over Israel and to lead God’s people. He did not ask for health, wealth or notoriety, instead his chief concern was to be able to walk in his father’s steps and to lead his people under the direction of God’s loving hand. This too should be our desire. To gain wisdom daily, should be our prayer, and also that we use this gift to lead others to Christ. We must show others that God lives within us, through our actions and our words each day. Otherwise our testimony will falter. We are not perfect, and no one will ever be, yet through God's grace and mercy we are able to seek His direction for us each new day, and to share His love with everyone we meet.
Blessings,
