1 Timothy 1:15-16...Mercy for Me...
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.
Often times we tend to forget the overwhelming amount of grace and mercy that Jesus poured out to each of us in our salvation. We get complacent with being good Christians and forget that our nature is that of sinful man, condemned to spend eternity apart from God. This was not our choice but rather our nature, handed down through generations and originating with Adam. Our choice lies in the belief and the trust and the faith that are provided to us through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Even for one such as Paul, who considered himself the very worst of sinners, there is salvation through faith in Christ. We are called to convey the story of Jesus and to share His love and compassion for others. This is quite contrary to the world around us however it is the calling upon each Christian life. Share the gospel, love your neighbor, embrace your family and live without fear and strong in faith.
