Matthew 25:34-36...Opportunity Awaits...
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
Throughout the scriptures we have been taught how important it is to extend charity, to fellowship with one another and to look after each other in times of need. Jesus spoke about the same things here again noting that we are blessed when we are willing to share and to help each other. We can not depend on government or large corporations to provide help for those in need. There is too much red tape or under-mining motives when we leave charity to those who do not extend a helping hand in Jesus name or for His sake. We should not be looking for praise or admiration nor seeking to be held in esteem for our actions but rather we should reach out to those in need with love and compassion that is only found through the love of God. Jesus lives within us and we are compelled to show the world love instead of hate, mercy instead of retribution, and grace in all that we do or say. The recent saying of “What Would Jesus Do” might be more prevalent now than it was then. Pray for guidance and opportunities to express the love of Christ.
