Matthew 15:35-38

He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children.

Feeding the multitude is a familiar story to us. We were taught this from an early age in Sunday School and through the many sermons that we have heard throughout the  years. Yet there are many in the world today that have not heard this story and have no idea of the power and compassion of Christ as revealed in this dialogue. It is a powerful story filled with Christ meeting the needs of those He is teaching by exercising the strength and power afforded to Him by His Father. From an ordinary serving of lunch Jesus fed many thousands and beyond that there were left-overs. He is able to meet our needs and even more He will surpass the need by supplying plenty.  God is our supply, meeting our needs and surpassing our expectations time and again. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is great!
