Matthew 8:23-26..Jesus Spoke...
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
The storm was upon them. It raged all around them and they were convinced that all would drown. Then Jesus spoke and suddenly all was calm, not that the storm settled down and went on by, rather that immediately it was completely calm. When Christ speaks all of His creation listens and obeys. Many are those that surround us each day that have not heard the voice of Christ, nor have they been listening for Him. Filled with self reliance and confident of inner strength they do not see the storm coming until they are in fear of drowning. God has a way of getting everyone’s attention. Our peace and comfort is settled in the fact that we have faith in Christ, we trust Him with our lives and we have experienced the calm His voice can command. This experience needs to be shared with those facing storms and with those yet to enter the choppy waters. This is our story, the story of Christ living in us that the world longs to hear. Share.
