Luke 8:45-47...Confess your faith..

“'Who touched me?' Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, 'Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.’ But Jesus said, 'Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.’ Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at His feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched Him and how she had been instantly healed. Then He said to her, 'Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.’”

Undoubtably Jesus knew who had touched Him, where His power had been directed and to whose life healing had come. Aside from the reasonings that His disciples gave about the crowd and the many possibilities of someone touching Him, Jesus wanted to see the confession of faith that this woman offered. Despite her fear of what might happen she quickly came forward and gave testimony about why and how she had reached out to touch His garment. Jesus looked upon her and acknowledged her faith and dismissed her with His blessing and healing. Our faith needs to be confessed everyday, in the market place, in the crowd and especially among those close to us. Without our confession of what God has done for us and of His power and might we allow those around us to stumble in the dark. Our faith is a light and a strong message of hope for all who hear.
