1 Timothy 6:6-8..... Focus on the things that matter

1 Timothy 6:6-8

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out of it. But is we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.”

So many of our struggles here on earth have to do with money or personal gain. We are bombarded by advertisements that warn of the need to build our wealth and condemn us for not buying a product that will pay us revenue when we are sick or retire. Everything the world throws at us revolves around money and rightly so for the world. But we are not of the world, nor should be caught in its traps and snares. We understand that God provides for our every need, that our strength is in Him and that it is He that we serve. When we are able to grasp that with both hands and let go of the circus that surrounds trying to become wealthy we are also able to understand more deeply our relationship with Christ. Be certain to focus on the things that matter.
