Luke 4:28-30...Love them anyway...
"When they heard these things, all in the synagogue were filled with wrath. And they rose up and drove him out of the town and brought him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, so that they could throw him down the cliff. But passing through their midst, he went away.”
The uprising against those who speak the truth of the scriptures or seek to share the love of God, is not something new. It has been around for centuries. In the verses above the whole town rose up against Jesus, driving Him out of town with the intent to throw Him off a cliff and end His life. The truth is revealing and most are afraid to hear it, let alone acknowledge it. They simply do not understand that Jesus came to forgive them and the guilt of their sin is no longer a burden that they must bare. It is our calling to help share this message, to comfort the afflicted, lift up those who have fallen and share the love of Christ with those we meet.
